Lapitec is a true innovation in surfaces. Where the choices have been quartz and natural stone until now, Lapitec offers all the design versatility of quartz but adds the rigidness, and heat resistance of hard granite.
All the molecules of Lapitec have been fused together with heat and pressure (what we call a sintered surface), much in the same way as stone is made in the real world. This means that there is no cement powder holding the quartz crystals together like in standard quartz surfaces. Whilst the quartz crystals themselves are has hard as anything, the resin is prone to scratching and burning with excessive heat.
Lapitec's design edge comes in the huge range of surface finishes being offered. From high gloss to a further 6 grades of roughness allows endless design possibilies. This is enhanced by the possibility of mixing not just light an dark colours in the same design, but also rough and smooth surfaces.
Lapitec is different to other sintered work surfaces in that the design runs all the way through the material (we call this full bodied). Other large porcelain or ceramic worktops are printed on the surface only.
